Our Team
-
Steven
July 2020 - Sept 2022
The little guy who started it all. He was smart, curious, sweet, opinionated, and the cutest little guy in the world.
-
Sofia
Sept 2020 - May 2022
I loved Steven so much, I had to get another. Sofia came from the incredible, Hamster Rescue in Santa Ana. She was feisty and determined, tiny but so mighty.
-
Laverne
Nov 2020 - Sept 2022
Laverne & her sister Shirley were initially my foster hamsters from Tiny Tracks Hamster Rescue (now Snow White’s Rescue Cottage). She was a bit nippy but also a total goofball. She loved attention and became the sweetest little thing in her old age.
-
Shirley
Nov 2020 - May 2022
Shirley was Laverne’s sister and her exact opposite. Quiet, sweet, shy. She would lick your fingertips as a greeting. Shirley and Laverne made me fall in love with hybrid dwarf hamsters.
-
Oscar
Dec 2021 - Feb 2023
Oscar was a rescue from the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter in LA County. He was red-listed, so I took him in. He was quite shy but still full of personality and sass.
-
Maurice
Feb 2023 - April 2025
Maurice was my first mid-west hamster! I got him from Mel’s Neighborhood Rodents. He was very sweet, although also extremely shy. I think he preferred to be on his own, but occasionally I would trick him into spending a few minutes with me :)
-
Thorfinn
April 2023 - Jan 2024
Thorfinn was at my local pet store for 7-8 months before he was marked down to just $4, and then I had to take him home! He was such a funny little thing. So active and excited to see me when I entered the room, he would run back and forth like a puppy until I brought him out to the playpen
-
Peggy
Dec 2023 -
Peggy and her sister Ella I got from a college student who was going abroad. Peggy is the sassy one, she sometimes nibbles, but is also quite excited to be out and about, always looking for a foraging opportunity.
-
Ella
Dec 2023 -
Ella is the sweet and shy sister of Peggy. Ella hardly came out while I was awake for the first year of having her, but in her old age she has grown to be so confident and sweet, she’ll even let me trim her nails!
-
Miles
Jan 2024 - June 2024
Miles was another pet store rescue - he had been at the pet store for 6+ months when I purchased him for a reduced price of $5. Unfortunately, Miles had a neurological issue that caused him to spin. Lots of vet trips but no cause was found, so I did the best to manage his condition while he was in my care.
-
Fred
Jan 2024 - Aug 2024
Fred was from the same pet store as Miles. He was an enormous dwarf hamster, sweet, shy, and curious. It was such fun to see him explore the world outside of a petstore.
-
Dexter
Jan 2024 - May 2025
What can I say about Dexter? He was my little mascot, my wiggly little ball of sniffs and curiosity. Dexter came from a sweet, Humane Society volunteer, who had to move to a place that did not allow hamsters.
-
Lemonade
Aug 2024 - May 2025
Lemonade was my first hamster from Happy Horizon Hamster Haven. She had one eye, but rarely used it. She was feisty but oh-so-busy! There wasn’t a hamster chew she didn’t love, or a digging area she didn’t dig in!
-
Fluffy
April 2025 -
Fluffy was surrendered by a sweet family who said they had developed an allergy to him. According to them, he was mostly in small cages and wasn’t handled, so it’s been a joy to see him come out of his shell and experience some hamster luxuries!
-
Lester
Aug 2024 -
Lester is a spunky little Roborovski hamster who came to me from a college student, who had rescued him from someone else. He has tons of energy and always has elaborate burrows. He excitedly comes out when I enter the hamster room, which is always fun!
-
Stan
Dec 2023 -
Stan is an oh-so-shy little guy who I have just one photo of. He was rescued by a HS student who saw he was being sold with his siblings as snake food.
-
Chet
June 2025 -
I got Chet from my local pet store, where he had been for 6 months before he was marked down. Chet is a busy, spunky boy who loves to swat at any hand who dare enter his enclosure! (but also did you bring food??). Can’t wait to get to know him a little better!
