“I’m thankful for you!” - June Bug
Tis the time of year to start remembering what we are all thankful for! I am thankful for many things this year, but, of course, I am thankful for the opportunity to get to know so many unique, little (and big!) hamster-personalities, and thankful for the online & in-person hamster-community… you all are the BEST.
You know what I love about hamster-people? They are detail-oriented. They don’t over-look the small stuff. They listen. They observe. They are gentle and patient. They know that an animal’s worth is not related to their monetary value. And I love that.
So this year, on Thanksgiving, I want to say a big, “THANK YOU!'“ for being you. For caring, commenting and sharing your photos so that the world can see that hamsters can be so much more than “pocket pets”.
In just the last five years (I started my hamster-care-journey in 2020) I have seen enormous growth in USA care & product availability. These things obviously go hand-in-hand - if the demand for more hamster-appropriate items weren’t there, we wouldn’t see the emergence of enclosures and products from Niteangel, Bucatstate, Tafit Pet, Happy Hamstery & Omlet (to name a few!). And of course all of our smaller, Etsy-based brands who provide us with gorgeous, unique, hamster-treats, hides & so on!
